LAFA Board Decison to Cancel 2020 Season

Dear Parents and Participants of LAFA,

Considering Governor Wolf’s recommendation this past week regarding fall sports, as well other youth football program’s decisions on their programs and the ever-evolving COVID-19 situation, the LAFA Board has voted and made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Flag, Tackle and Cheerleading season. The LAFA Board feels it is in the best interest and safety of the league’s participants not to hold a 2020 season. The Board reviewed and considered a variety of data points and input from various sources before making this decision.  Guidance that was considered came from the CDC, the State of PA, the WCASD, the PIAA, various college conferences (PSAC) and other local youth leagues including CYO to name a few. We discussed numerous scenarios including a set of return to play guidelines for the upcoming season but ultimately we believe there was no clear way to protect our participants and volunteers fully against COVID-19 and the risk outweighed the benefits of having a season. The ultimate deciding factor was keeping our kids safe and allowing them the opportunity to return to play in 2021.

We understand this is a very difficult situation for all of us, especially the kids, and we hope we can all get back to some normalcy very soon and back to the game, we all love! Be safe and see you next fall!

Due to these difficult times the virus has caused for many of us, LAFA would like to offer a one time $50 discount to those who are in need. Simply use the code LAFA50 during registration to receive the discount. Those who are not in a situation in need we thank you for you full support of the league. A full refund will be provided in the event a season does not take place.

Fundraiser Fees - Buy Out or U Sell Options

Buy Out - add $50 to your registration fees and take no further action to support the league.

U Sell Option - add $100 to your registration fees and receive 1 case (6 boxes of chunk chip cookie dough) worth $100 that can be sold to reimburse yourself resulting in no additional cost to you.

Installment Payment Option

You can split your registration fees into 2 payments. Half of your total registration fees are due at checkout and the final payment is due on or before September 21st.

Family/Sibling Discount

A family with 3 or more children registering in the same registration period will receive a $100 discount on the total registration cost.
